Applications

Areas of application: For intensive and thorough cleansing and moisturizing of the nasal mucosa, as a preventive and supportive measure for Colds, increased pollen count, as well as heavy dust and dirt pollution. Contraindications: Frequent and severe nosebleeds, severe injuries to the nasal cavities or operations with direct connections to the Coldid spaces of the brain. Note for special patient groups: Mivolis nasal irrigation salt can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children and the elderly when used as directed. Dosage and method of administration: Mivolis nasal irrigation salt is used to prepare a nasal irrigation solution. To do this, dissolve the contents of one sachet of Mivolis nasal irrigation salt in 250 ml of warm water (at least drinking water quality!) and rinse the nose with it. The water used to prepare the rinsing solution must not be warmer than 50 °C, must be at least of drinking water quality and should always be fresh. Sterile or boiled water should be used for particularly exposed patients (e.g. patients with cystic fibrosis or those who have just undergone surgery in the first 3 days after surgery) and if drinking water quality is unclear. Nasal rinses can be performed up to 3 times a day with 250 ml of solution each. As a rule, the use of a commercially available nasal douche is recommended. Nasal rinses with Mivolis nasal rinsing salt can be carried out for an unlimited period of time when used as directed.

Side effects: Occasionally there is tingling and burning in the nose, rarely headaches have been observed immediately after rinsing treatments. Side effects of incorrect use: If used improperly, especially nasal rinses with irrigation solutions that are too high or too low, the nasal mucosa can become irritated or dry out. When taking the salt, stomach and circulatory problems with a temporary increase in blood pressure can occur. Always use prepared solutions fresh and never store them, as Mivolis nasal rinsing salt does not contain any preservatives, so the solutions can quickly become contaminated (possible risk of infection!). Do not use Mivolis Nasal Rinsing Salt after the expiry date printed on the package.
